Fernando Mignoni was a Spanish artist, coming from a family of artists, musicians and dancers, which influenced his creative sensibility from an early age. He studied at the San Fernando School of Fine Arts in Madrid, where he received a solid training in painting and sculpture. In 1961 he joined the Hondo group, whose activity sought to renew contemporary plastic languages in Spain.
Together with his then wife, Elvira González, he founded Galería Theo, which became an important reference point for contemporary Spanish art, promoting the diffusion of emerging artists and establishing links with international movements. His work, characterized by a dialogue between abstraction and exploration of form, was presented in numerous solo and group exhibitions, both in Spain and Europe.
Among his most outstanding exhibitions are the retrospective organized by the former Museo de Arte Contemporáneo de Madrid in 1986, which allowed a complete review of his career, and the solo exhibition at the Sala Denís René in Paris in 1990, where his work was received with great critical acclaim.
Throughout his career, Mignoni explored various media, combining painting, sculpture and graphic work, always attentive to the evolution of contemporary trends and the dialogue between tradition and modernity. His artistic legacy continues to be a point of reference in the Spanish art scene of the 20th century.
