Joaquín Asensio Marinè approaches here a rural motif with a painting of luminous chromatic intensity. The brushstroke is loose and impastoed, applied with decision, which gives the surface a rich and dynamic texture. The warm light, the undisputed protagonist of the composition, models the volumes and accentuates the hallmarks of golden ochers, reddish earths and intense greens.

A self-taught painter, he exhibited individually in the main galleries of Barcelona, such as the Pallarés Galleries and the Rovira and Argos galleries, among others. He also showed his work in Madrid, Bilbao, León, Santander and Valencia and, abroad, in Buenos Aires, Denmark and Oporto. He took part in the National Exhibition of Fine Arts in 1944, as well as in those of Barcelona (1944) and Badalona (1951), obtaining several medals. He develops within realism, with certain influences of Eliseo Meifrén and Joaquín Mir.
