The work in bidding constitutes a testimony of Aidan Salakhova's artistic style before her international projection at the Venice Biennale in 1991 and already anticipates her interest in the exploration of female sexuality, a determining theme in her production.
Aidan Salakhova is a contemporary Russian artist of Azerbaijani origin known for her work in painting, sculpture, photography and installations that explores themes such as gender, female sexuality and the hallmarks between East and West. She has participated in important biennials such as Venice and her works are in international collections, in addition to having founded the Aidan Gallery in Moscow and being a professor and academic at the Russian Academy of Fine Arts.
