In this painting the tradition of the still life is reinvented from the sensibility of the European school of the 20th century. The theme, a profusion of bouquets arranged in the interior, almost overflowing the space, transcends the mere still life to become a set where matter, color and light prevail.
The composition, dense and almost overwhelming, avoids the classical order to bet on a deliberate accumulation that verges on the baroque. The different floral arrangements overlap and intertwine. However, far from chaos, a harmony built from hallmarks emerges. The work evidences a loose and impastoed brushstroke, which refers to the inheritance of post-impressionism and certain expressionist developments. The form is not defined by the drawing, but by the accumulation of pictorial matter, which gives the flowers an almost tactile presence.
