Cayetano de Arquer Buigas is a portraitist praised by the critics due to his personal interpretation of the woman, central subject of his work, being specially recognized his feminine necks. His is an intimate work, of small format, far from the monumentality practiced by other artists of his family, such as his great-uncle Carlos Buigas Sans, creator of luminous fountains and gardens all over the world, or his great-grandfather Cayetano Buigas Monravà, architect and author of the monument to Columbus in Barcelona.
