The painting of Concha Ibáñez is characterized by an intimate and silent look on the landscape, especially the rural one. Her works, of serene atmosphere and contained light, explore the relationship between the human being and nature from a poetic sensibility, where the everyday acquires an almost meditative dimension. With a balanced palette and sober compositions, Ibáñez builds spaces that invite contemplation and meditation.
Trained at the Schools of La Lonja and Fine Arts in Barcelona, she began her exhibition career in 1960, marking the beginning of a steady and solid career. Since then, her work has traveled to numerous Spanish cities and international stages such as Vienna, New York, Brussels or Holguin (Cuba), consolidating an outstanding presence inside and outside the country. His participation in collective exhibitions has been equally relevant, taking part in events such as the Salones de Mayo, Spanish biennials, tributes, the National Salons of Engraving and international fairs such as ARCO or Artexpo. Throughout his career he has received multiple awards that endorse his work, including the First Prize of Painting City of Hospitalet (1966), the Rafael Barradas Award, the Florenci Freixas of the III Biennial of Manresa, the Donart of Barcelona (1995) and the Prize of Plastic Arts of Vilassar de Mar (1997).
