The work presents a direct and symbolic visual language, characteristic of Silvia Gubern in the eighties, where the archetypal acquires prominence. The hand, of simplified stroke and almost totemic character, functions as a universal sign that refers to the human and the ancestral. Graphic elements such as the serpentine form provide dynamism and a ritual dimension, while the glass support intensifies the chromatic vividness and cleanliness of the whole.

Silvia Gubern is an artist trained at the Escola Massana, linked to the Spanish plastic renewal of the late twentieth century. Throughout his career, Gubern has exhibited at the Sala Vinçon in Barcelona on a regular basis, in addition to participating in several group exhibitions held at the MACBA in Barcelona.
