The composition we are dealing with stands out for the balance between landscape, architecture and daily life. The artist works with a luminous and precise brushstroke, attentive to the texture of the rock as well as to the reflections of the water and the chromatic vibration of the vegetation. The result is a serene and narrative image, where nature and the farmhouse are integrated in a kind and deeply evocative vision of the Spanish landscape.
Juan Ferrer Carbonell was a painter, draftsman and teacher, especially dedicated to landscape and illustration in the press. He participated in official competitions and won third medal at the National Exhibition of Fine Arts in 1934 for Plaza de una villa bretona. Known in his time as "the traveling painter", his work is characterized by a direct sensitivity to the places, the light and the atmosphere of each landscape.
