Manuel Coronado is a painter and sculptor linked to lyrical abstraction and expressionism, with an international career developed between Spain and several European countries since the 60's; formed in Palma de Mallorca, he exhibited in cities like Stockholm, Paris, New York or Milan and maintained relationship with Spanish avant-garde circles linked to artists like Mompó or Labra. His work is characterized by the intense use of color, gestures and symbolic and human references, and throughout his career he received awards such as the Juan March Scholarship, the Ciutat de Palma Prize and the appointment of Favorite Son of Águilas, consolidating his position as a respected figure in contemporary Spanish abstract painting.
