Cascella recreates one of the most emblematic enclaves of the Ligurian coast through a luminous and deeply Mediterranean vision. The bay opens up between the vegetation in the foreground, the white sails and the warm architecture of the port, constructing an image of great serenity and decorative appeal.
The work stands out for its chromatic richness, achieved through a complex technique of silkscreen printing and lithography with 36 color passages. This workmanship makes it possible to reproduce with particular vividness the greens, blues, yellows and ochers characteristic of Cascella's pictorial universe, where landscape, light and color become the true protagonists.
Michele Cascella was one of the most renowned Italian painters of the 20th century, famous for his landscapes, flowers and urban views of delicate luminist sensibility. He exhibited on numerous occasions in Italy and abroad, participated in the Venice Biennale and the Quadriennale in Rome, and his work is represented in public and private collections, including the Galleria Nazionale d'Arte Moderna e Contemporanea in Rome and the Museo Civico Basilio Cascella in Pescara.
