Hugues Delbergue is a French painter whose practice focuses primarily on tempera painting, a traditional technique he has explored and perfected throughout his career. His work combines solid technical mastery with a profound reflection on the processes of learning, artistic creation, and the mechanisms of legitimation in the art world.
Trained at the École Nationale Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs in Paris, where he earned a BTS in Interior Architecture in 1978, he later continued his studies in the United States, earning a Master of Science in Art Education with honors from Florida International University in 1984. However, Delbergue believes that his true education has developed beyond academic frameworks, through self-taught learning, personal experience, and the encounters that have shaped his life and artistic journey.
Her work is characterized by the revival and reinterpretation of traditional painting techniques, integrated into a contemporary exploration of identity, knowledge, and creative freedom. Through her works, she challenges established systems of education, recognition, and artistic validation, inviting the viewer to reflect on the structures that shape cultural production and individual development.
