The work features a sumptuous, dense, and variegated pyramidal composition that occupies most of the pictorial surface. In the lower left and central areas, the composition is based on a rich variety of fruits arranged on a wooden table and in a white-and-blue earthenware or porcelain bowl. Visible are velvety peaches, clusters of white and black grapes, bright red cherries or currants, and even a fallen sunflower in the lower right corner. From the geometric center emerges a barely suggested vase, from which springs a lush and dense floral arrangement that expands upward in a burst of organic forms.
