The painter Marc Aleu trained at the School of Fine Arts in Barcelona and settled in Paris in 1952. Two years later, he held a notable exhibition in Oslo. He was a member of the Taüll group (1955) and initially developed a poetic style of painting, which later evolved toward a violent sensualism—influenced by the expressionist Picasso—and ultimately culminated in a style full of surrealist resonances.
