Trained under Vicente Castell, he traveled to Valencia in 1906 on a scholarship and enrolled at the San Carlos School of Fine Arts. Four years later, he settled in Barcelona, where he studied at the La Lonja School. After completing his studies, he returned to Castellón in 1915, where he founded the Ribalta Group, which focused on plein air landscape painting. A regular at the Sant Lluc Art Circle in Barcelona, he held his first solo exhibition at the La Pinacoteca gallery in 1918, where he continued to exhibit frequently thereafter. He participated in the 1929 Barcelona International Exhibition, as well as in international exhibitions in Venice, Oslo, Buenos Aires, and Paris. In 1954, he won first prize at the National Fine Arts Exhibition, an award that marked his definitive recognition. Porcar’s works are represented in the Museums of Fine Arts in Valencia, Alicante, and Castellón; the Museum of Contemporary Art in Vilafamés; the Lladró Museum; and the National Theater Museum in Almagro, among others.
