Work inspired by a landscape in Gualba, Barcelona.
Montserrat Riu trained at the Massana School in Barcelona, where she graduated in 1976. A year later, she founded her own studio-school. Her work has been exhibited in Barcelona, Cádiz, Valencia, and elsewhere, as well as in several American and European cities. Her works are held in numerous private collections, as well as in art centers and museums such as the Centre d’Art Santa Mònica of the Generalitat de Catalunya, the Barcelona City Council, the National Museum of Bordeaux, the Vatican, and the Museum of Modern Art in Prague, among others.
