Francisco Sales began his training as a child under the guidance of sculptor Enrique Bassas. At the age of twenty, he joined the Círculo Artístico and enrolled in the School of Fine Arts in Barcelona. He held his first exhibition at the Galerías Layetanas in 1930. After the Civil War, he worked and exhibited in France. A member of the Parisian Salon des Indépendants since 1945, he exhibited at the most prominent galleries in the French capital, such as Mirador (1953), Epona (1960), and Angle du Faubourg (1961). Currently, this painter’s works are represented in the Musée de la Ville de Paris, the Museums of Contemporary Art in Madrid and Toledo, the Provincial Museum of Vitoria, the Bilbao Fine Arts Museum, and the Barcelona Provincial Council.
