ROMÀ PANADÈS ANTÓN (Barcelona, 1956).
Untitled, 1982.
Mixed media on paper.

Measurements: 48 x 64 cm; 50 x 66 cm (frame).
Romà Panadès studied Fine Arts at the University of Barcelona, and in 1982 he received a painting scholarship from the Güell Foundation. After graduating, he worked as a professor of painting techniques at the University of Barcelona for several years, and later expanded his training through various courses in ceramics, mosaics, and printmaking. He cultivates a figurative style with an avant-garde heritage, classical roots, and a distinctly modern vision; throughout his career, he has held exhibitions at such prominent venues as the Parés Gallery in Barcelona. He has also exhibited his work in Mallorca and Madrid, and internationally in Switzerland, Tunisia, England, Germany, and the United States, among other countries. He had his first solo exhibition in 1982 at the Sala Parés in Barcelona. Other important exhibitions he has held throughout his career include those organized at the Palau de la Virreina in Barcelona, INCUBI Art in Genolier, Switzerland, and Arpe in Cannes, France. He has also participated in major group exhibitions and art fairs such as Artexpo. His work has evolved through various periods, all characterized by a vibrant artistic language and a genuine, constant renewal in both subject matter and creative processes. However, Panadès has always maintained deep ties to Barcelona and the Mediterranean and, as he describes himself, feels closer to the visual heritage of cinema than to that of painting. In addition to painting, he has worked in illustration and poster design (the 1993 Mercè Festival poster for the Barcelona City Council), and has also collaborated with newspapers such as “La Vanguardia,” “El País,” and “El Periódico de Catalunya,” as well as creating book cover designs and various set designs. His work is currently represented in the collections of the Fundació Vila Casas, the Col•lecció Testimoni Caixa de Pensions, the Generalitat de Catalunya, the City Council and the Provincial Council of Barcelona, and the Banc de Sabadell collection.
