In this vast landscape, we can see a section of countryside featuring neatly arranged bundles of straw. The scene suggests that work has recently been done in this area, and that these bundles will later be gathered and stored.
The painter takes particular care to depict the light and shadow in this cloudy landscape, which vary depending on the presence or absence of clouds and tree branches.
