Early 20th-Century Catalan School

Early 20th-century Catalan school.
“Landscapes.”
Pair of oil paintings on panel.
Measurements: 14 x 22 cm; 15 x 23.5 cm (frame).

This pair of landscapes is part of the tradition of Catalan realist landscape painting that developed between the late 19th and early 20th centuries, when the depiction of nature gradually moved away from the idealized and theatrical vision of Romanticism to focus on direct observation of the environment, the capture of light, and atmospheric realism.
