The composition we show suggests the idea of forest, reduced to a rhythmic and lyrical abstraction. Ana Paul is attracted both by forests and by the expressiveness of paper. Both elements coincide in this painting.

Ana Paúl was born in Barcelona and since she was a child, already attracted by paper, she made different types of compositions with different types of images that she found and also of her own creation. After completing her studies, she moved first to London and then to Paris, where she lived for 20 years. There she worked in the fashion industry and decorative arts while making her own collages, inspired by the creative environment that surrounded her. Her work is represented by the Marita Segovia Gallery in Madrid.

All cultures have explored the possibilities of paper, opening frontiers and allowing delicate forms of expression, subtle and suggestive, but also transgressive and challenging. From Japanese origami to the introduction of collage in the painting of the cubists. Ana Paul is attracted by its textures, its folds, its profiles, its edges and its volumes. She is also captivated by forests and trees, their majestic beauty and primordial mystery. In a world that is constantly changing and presenting new challenges every day, for her, trees provide a deep-rooted and lasting sense of protection and support.
