In "Initiation of witch", David Roldán constructs a scene of strong symbolic load and disturbing atmosphere, where the domestic and the ritual converge in the same plane. Five female figures, dressed in nineteenth-century-inspired dresses, are arranged around a table illuminated by the dim light of candles, generating a circular composition that directs the gaze towards the center of the action.

Above them, suspended in a black and undefined space, a sixth female figure levitates in an attitude of trance or abandonment, becoming the narrative axis of the scene. This resource introduces a supernatural dimension that suggests a rite of passage, a transformation or initiation -as the title suggests- within a possible closed and enigmatic feminine community.

Roldán achieves a work that moves between the symbolic and the narrative, inviting the spectator to interpret a scene charged with mystery, where the everyday is transformed into a scenario of initiation and transcendence.

David Roldán has a solid Artistic Training, beginning his career in 2018 as a Bachelor of Visual Arts from the School of Fine Arts of Trujillo. Continuing his specialization, in 2024 he graduated as Director of 3D Animation and VFX at the Peruvian School of Film Industry. That same year, he completed a Master's Degree in VFX with Houdini Visual Effects at Fx Animation in Barcelona. In addition, in 2025, he expanded his knowledge at the ECORE School of Furniture Restoration, Art and Heritage in Barcelona. As for his exhibition trajectory, his works have been part of important events, including the XVII Binational Exhibition of Plastic and Visual Arts of Ecuador-Peru in 2019, an exhibition at the MA Gallery in Colombia in 2022 and the IV Biennial of Trujillo-Peru in 2024. His work has also been exhibited at prestigious venues such as the Museo Central (MUCEN) in Peru in 2024, and internationally in 2025, at the Art World Fairs Paris, Red Dot Miami in the US in December, the Art Innovation Gallery in New York and a Group Exhibition at the European Museum of Modern Art (MEAM) in Barcelona, Spain.
