BID HISTORY

DESCRIPTION

MAX MATICH (Zaragoza).
"Moon of Silesia", 2018.
Mixed media on canvas, powder pigments pressed on stucco.
Certificate of authenticity attached.
Measurements: 110 x 110 cm.

In Max Matich's work, the stars become a central motif charged with symbolic resonance. More than literal representations, his moons and planets appear as suspended landscapes where matter, time and emotion converge.

His pictorial language is constructed from an artisanal technique based on stucco and pure pressed powdered pigments. The relief captures the light and conveys an intense physical presence, while the superimposed layers generate eroded surfaces that evoke layers of memory.

Max Matich graduated in Fine Arts in Barcelona and has more than thirty years of international experience. After three decades signed as Zvonimir Matich, he begins a new stage under the name Max, as a natural synthesis of his evolution and desire to connect more directly with the public. His work has been presented in spaces such as Synchronicity Gallery in New York, the Shanghai International Fair with the YLH Gallery, the Carlos Gil de la Parra Gallery in Zaragoza, the Santa María Foundation-Museum of Albarracín, as well as in galleries in Barcelona, Berlin and Leichlingen, in addition to participating in group exhibitions in galleries such as Esther Montoriol, Barnadas and Margarita Summer.

The critic Josep Maria Cadena highlighted in his work that ability to connect with the "universal heartbeat of humanity", overcoming cultural and linguistic barriers.
