Cristina Cañamero's painting is situated in a contemporary realism of strong psychological charge, focused on the human figure and, especially, in the female body as a space of tension, vulnerability and estrangement. Her compositions, often seen from unusual angles or forced positions, introduce the viewer into a disturbing atmosphere, where time seems suspended and the gesture acquires a symbolic value.

Cristina Cañamero has a degree in Fine Arts from the University of Granada, specializing in painting, and lives and works in Cordoba. Recognized since the late nineties with awards in young painting competitions, she has developed a solid exhibition career in galleries such as Alfredo Viñas (Málaga) and Arte 21 (Córdoba), as well as in international fairs such as ARCO and the Lisbon Contemporary Art Fair. Her work is part of important institutional collections, including the CAC Malaga, UNICAJA, RENFE, the Coca-Cola Foundation and various Andalusian public institutions, consolidating her as one of the most personal voices of contemporary Spanish figurative realism.
