DESCRIPTION
EDWARD GRANGER (Louisiana, 1989).
"Geometry and abstraction," 2018.
Gouache on photovoltaic panel.
Signed and dated on the side.
Measurements: 165 x 99 cm.
This work was part of the Solar Panel Art Series exhibition presented in Brooklyn, an initiative that brought together twelve New York-based artists to intervene repurposed solar panels. Beyond its visual power, the project links art and sustainability, with the proceeds going to the "Solar Schools" program of the Little Sun Foundation in Rwanda. Thus, Granger's piece not only explores contemporary geometric abstraction, but also dialogues with energy, reuse and social commitment.
Initially trained as an architect, Edward Granger, earned his Master of Architecture from the University of Louisiana in 2012. This academic background is reflected in the spatial precision and structural rigor of his works, where geometry dialogues with chromatic sensibility. Influenced by the cultural revolution driven by Memphis Milano, Granger uses color as a tool in his compositions. He has exhibited internationally in cities such as New Orleans, New York, Berlin, Brisbane, Sofia and Miami. His work has been represented by galleries such as The Fireplace Project (New York), Victori+MO (Brooklyn) and Hue Gallery (Miami). He currently lives and works in Brooklyn, where he continues to develop a plastic research focused on the transformative energy of color and form.
