Jafet Blanch is a painter whose work is located in a unique territory between technical realism and a sharp critical reading of contemporaneity. Trained at the Academy of Art of Barcelona and at the Universitat Pompeu Fabra, Blanch developed from the beginning a language of his own, characterized by a refined pictorial execution and an incisive look at the everyday.
His exhibition career, which began strongly in the 2010s, includes his participation in relevant fairs and spaces such as SWAB Barcelona, Context Art Miami or JustMAD in Madrid, as well as in institutions such as the MEAM (European Museum of Modern Art) in Barcelona. In addition, he has shown his work in galleries such as N2 Gallery, where he has presented projects that oscillate between the still life tradition -reinterpreted from a contemporary sensibility- and scenes charged with narrative tension.
Blanch's work stands out for its ability to reveal what lies beneath the surface of the images. Through carefully constructed compositions, he introduces the viewer to an ambiguous atmosphere where the obvious coexists with the hidden. His painting, with a precise and deliberate aesthetic, addresses social issues with irony and subtlety, making the viewer participate almost unconsciously in the reading of multiple layers of meaning.
