The painting presents a vibrant visual language in which chromatic intensity and geometric shapes are articulated with great dynamism. The artist resorts to the use of aerosol and resources typical of muralism, which gives the work an urban energy and a marked gestural execution. One of the most interesting aspects is the tension between figuration and abstraction: while the eye, treated in detail, acts as a recognizable anchor, the surrounding forms dissolve into an abstract web of color and geometry. This contrast generates a suggestive composition, in which the figurative emerges and is simultaneously diluted, inviting the viewer to an open reading in constant transformation.
Diana Ordóñez, known professionally as LEDANIA, is a Colombian multimedia artist based in Bogotá. Best known for her graffiti murals, LeDania also works in other fields such as photography, graphic design, advertising, artistic makeup and decorative items such as clothing and accessories. Her works are recognized by the use of positive and vibrant tones, highlighting her work as a muralist, most of her graffiti are located in Chapinero, a neighborhood in the north of Bogota. Although her pieces have been exhibited in more than 22 countries and she is internationally recognized for her collaboration in the Disney movie Encanto. Her graffiti often depicts Tasmanian animals and insects, as well as other mythological, magical or autobiographical symbols. Apart from graffiti, LeDania's figurative works derive from three different artistic movements: expressionism, cubism and surrealism.
The Museo de Arte Contemporáneo de Bogotá first exhibited LeDania's works in 2005. Her work was exhibited in 2019 at Street Lynx Bta, and in 2022 at the Miami Graffiti Museum, which held a solo show of the artist. Her work has been exhibited internationally at major fairs such as the Curitiba Biennial (Brazil), Art Expo Malaysia and Artscape (Sweden).
