An abstract composition of great subtlety, built from glazes, fragmented planes, and a restrained palette dominated by light, bluish, gray, and golden tones. The pictorial surface is articulated through irregular geometric forms that seem to emerge and disappear against the background, creating a sense of memory, imprint, and evocation.

The title introduces a poetic reading of the work, where the reference to the tree does not appear descriptively, but is suggested through vertical structures, subtle branches, and suspended patches. The composition conveys a serene and introspective atmosphere, in which the painterly gesture and the texture of the oil paint play an essential role.

Yolanda Carretero Cacho has combined her creative work with art teaching at public high schools in the Balearic Islands, as well as, on occasion, with private teaching abroad. She has participated in numerous group art exhibitions in Barcelona, Menorca, Mallorca, and other parts of Europe, as well as in competitions in which she has been a winner and a finalist.

Her work is characterized by a constant search for and exploration of new techniques and styles, including printmaking, watercolor, acrylic, Indian ink, and life sketches in pencil, developed during stays in Paris and London.

Regarding her education, in 2003 she earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the Sant Jordi University in Barcelona. Between 2003 and 2004, she studied illustration for one year at the Escola Llotja in Barcelona, on Avinyó Street. Between 1999 and 2003, she was a member of the Círculo Artístico de Barcelona on Carrer dels Arcs, and between 1991 and 1998, she took painting classes at the Ateneo Municipal de Es Castell with the artist Francesc Calvet.

Notable among her exhibitions are the solo show held in 2016 at Galería Vanrell, Palma de Mallorca; INCAART, at Galería Espai 32, Pollença, in 2014; the group exhibition at Galería Artara, Mahón, in 2014; Nadal ART at Galería Artara in Mahón in 2012; and EncantART at Galería Encant in Mahón in 2010.
