In “Autumnal Nostalgia,” Cristina Cañamero explores one of the most lyrical aspects of her recent figurative work, combining oil and watercolor to create a surface of great chromatic and atmospheric subtlety. The precise rendering of the face and clothing is a hallmark of the more fluid treatment of the hair and background, achieved through transparencies and soft gradations. The work fits seamlessly into Cañamero’s figurative language, which centers on the human figure and is characterized by a meticulous use of light and a restrained narrative.

Cristina Cañamero holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the University of Granada (with a specialization in painting) and lives and works in Córdoba. She has received various awards since the late 1990s, and her work is included in institutional collections such as those of the Andalusian Provincial Councils, UNICAJA, the Coca-Cola Foundation, and CAC Málaga, among others. She has participated in art fairs such as ARCO and in numerous solo and group exhibitions, establishing a recognized career within the contemporary Andalusian figurative art scene.
