Landscape is the central theme of Enric Rubió Serra’s body of work, and in this piece, the artist focuses his attention on a wooded corner of Sant Privat de Bas, in La Garrotxa. The composition is organized around the stream and the large moss-covered rocks, which draw the viewer’s gaze into the depths of the forest and allow for a meticulous study of light, reflections, and natural textures.

Rubió combines precise execution with a distinctive atmospheric sensitivity. The greens of the moss, the bluish reflections on the water, and the light filtering through the trees create a rich chromatic gradation, while his brushwork adapts to the different surfaces—stone, vegetation, and water—without losing pictorial unity.

Enric Rubió Serra graduated with a degree in Applied Arts and Artistic Crafts, specializing in Painting and Mural Projects, in Olot, and completed his training at the Accademia Statale di Belle Arti in Frosinone, Italy. As director and professor at the School of Fine Arts in Villa de Anglès, he has developed a career particularly focused on landscape painting and has exhibited in Spain, France, and the United States. His mastery of this genre has been recognized with various international awards, including an Honorable Mention for best landscape at the Val d’Or International Salon and first prizes at the international salons in Prades and Château de Valmy.
