Created in Barcelona in 2024, "Fuga Nocturna" is rooted in the urban and Expressionist imagery that characterizes Diego Cáceres’s painting. His artistic language is grounded in the prominence of the pictorial medium, the brushstroke, and the creation of atmospheres of intense emotional power—the result of a career in which painterly tradition converges with influences drawn from comics and Expressionist cinema.

The title introduces a nocturnal and dynamic dimension that is particularly in tune with this interest in the city as a space of tension and experience. Cáceres’s practice has drawn inspiration from figures such as Antonio Berni, Miquel Barceló, and Kirchner, along with the decisive influence of the illustrator Alberto Breccia—references that the artist integrates into a personal artistic language that eschews direct quotation and focuses on the expressive possibilities of painting.

Diego Cáceres studied for four years at the Faculty of Fine Arts in Buenos Aires and completed his technical training in Ignacio Sosa’s studio. In 2001, he moved to Barcelona, where he shifted his practice toward a material-based style of painting, which he later consolidated during his time in the Nave 1 studios. He has exhibited in venues in Barcelona and Buenos Aires, as well as internationally at the Atelier Vanntarnet in Oslo, and has presented his work at the Centre Cívic Baró de Viver, the Darío Siguismondo Gallery, and El Niu, among other venues.
