BID HISTORY

DESCRIPTION

ALFONSO MARTÍN MORALES (Seville, 1984).
"Firenze," "10º" Series, 2026.
Acrylic paint and inks on canvas.
Signed in the lower center and on the back.
Comes with a certificate of authenticity signed by the artist.
Measurements: 94 × 80 cm (including margins for framing).

Conceived as a tribute to Florence and its artistic legacy, "Firenze" conveys the experience of the city through a language that lies between figuration and abstraction. The architecture remains recognizable but is partially dissolved among patches, glazes, and fluid strokes, while a color palette dominated by yellows, ochres, pinks, and violets intensifies the sensation of light and atmosphere.

The work belongs to the “10º” series, created using fluid painterly techniques and a slight tilt of the canvas that encourages the movement of paint, transparencies, and textures reminiscent of watercolor. In this process, Martín places greater emphasis on the luminous and emotional impression of the place than on its meticulous description.

Alfonso Martín’s work is characterized by a contemporary interpretation of watercolor and fluid techniques, combining figuration and abstraction with a special focus on light and atmosphere. He trained with artists such as Álvaro Castagnet, Julia Barminova, and Roberto Barba. He has received various awards in on-site painting competitions, including first prizes in Gines (2022), Vejer de la Frontera (2023), and the 4th Córdoba International Watercolor Competition (2026), and has held solo exhibitions such as “Graffitti” (2023) and “Dejar fluir” (2025).
