Claudio Giulianelli’s painting is characterized by a symbolic and timeless figuration that draws directly from the Italian and Flemish pictorial traditions, reinterpreted through a contemporary and deeply allegorical sensibility.
Claudio Giulianelli creates a body of work based on in-depth research into ancient Italian and Flemish painting, conceptually linked to medieval Hermetic philosophy, in which the female figure appears repeatedly as a symbolic axis and the force that drives the world. Throughout his career, he has consistently participated in group exhibitions, museums, and international art fairs in Europe, Asia, the Middle East, and the United States, with a presence in cities such as Istanbul, Paris, Lille, Rome, Stuttgart, Venice—where he participated in the 54th Venice Biennale at the Italian Pavilion curated by Vittorio Sgarbi— Hangzhou, Shanghai, Beijing, Milan, London, Brussels, Innsbruck, Abu Dhabi, Moscow, Monte Carlo, New York, Miami, and Los Angeles, among others. At the same time, he has built a solid career of solo exhibitions since 1986 at institutional venues and leading galleries in Rome, Milan, San Gimignano, Hangzhou, Abu Dhabi, London, Sweden, Venice, and Brussels, establishing an international career marked by conceptual coherence, symbolic exploration, and a sustained presence on the contemporary art scene.
