BID HISTORY
DESCRIPTION
Tray; Spain, late nineteenth century.
Embossed and chiseled silver.
They present apocryphal punches / Toledo; Gonzalez and Diego Calderon).
Measurements: 2,5 x 59,5 cm.
Weight: 1484 g.
Silver tray of baroque style, entirely made in silver and decorated with motives in high relief, worked by means of embossing and with chiseled details. The piece stands out for the portraits of illustrious characters that are arranged both in the base and in the eaves of the tray. It follows the models of the ornamental trays typical of 17th century silverware, hence the differentiation between seat and eaves, the undulating profile and the prominence of plant motifs in the decoration, worked with naturalism and chiaroscuro sense.
