The Sacred Heart of Jesus is a late iconography, officially consecrated in 1685 as a symbol of the encounter of Protestantism and Jansenism, of the love of God towards all men, without exceptions. The theme will enter definitively in the Catholic iconography in the XVIII century, and it will do it in two plastic forms: as a flaming heart applied externally on the chest of Jesus or as rays of light emanating from an incision practiced on his chest, on the side of the heart. On this occasion the heart is decorated with the Virgin of Sorrows with the seven swords nailed.
