DESCRIPTION
Mesh bag. Germany, ca. 1900.
Silver 900.
With German hallmarks and silversmith (M.H).
Weight: 260 g.
Measurements: 30 x 16 cm (bag).
The silver mesh handbags, also known as limosneras or mesh bags, were the feminine accessory par excellence between the late nineteenth century and the first decades of the twentieth century (especially during the Victorian era, the Belle Époque and Art Deco).
A bag with a fine and very well-integrated mesh structure, whose touch resembles a heavy fabric that falls softly. The combination of geometric shapes and bangs on the mesh are in the Art Deco style. Rigid snap top closure superimposed on a circular structure that adapts to the wrist.
