DESCRIPTION
Pair of large candlesticks of the 19th century.
Silver.
Exhibits wear consistent with age and use.
Total weight: 11000 gr.
Measurements: 86 x 50 x 50 cm.
This pair of nineteenth-century candlesticks embodies the exuberance of the Rococo style through a multi-arm structure of great dynamism, where the sinuous lines in the form of "S" are intertwined with a profuse decoration of rocailles and phytomorphic motifs. The most distinctive element is the upper top, featuring the figure of a winged cherub in triumphal attitude that gives the whole a sculptural and solemn dimension. The shaft, with a balustraded profile, rests on a large base with chiseled reliefs that ensure the stability of the piece, while the patina of the metal accentuates the play of light and shadow on the draperies and scrolls, consolidating these pieces as maximum exponents of sumptuous salon lighting.
