This set of three silver trays, made in Spain during the first half of the 20th century, is inscribed in the survival of the historicist taste that characterized much of the goldsmithing of this period. The pieces show a clear inspiration in baroque and rococo models, visible in the richness of the relief, the profusion of vegetal motifs and the dynamism of the borders, which frame figurative scenes of narrative character.
The central circular tray stands out for its more elaborate composition, with a scene in relief of mythological or costumbrista resonances, treated with a deeper and more sculptural modeling. The two oval trays, on the other hand, present engraved decorations of lesser volume, but equally detailed, where landscapes and figures are developed with a more delicate line. This contrast between relief and engraving brings variety and balance to the whole, and from a technical point of view, the pieces show a careful execution, both in the chisel work and in the definition of the contours and textures.
