DESCRIPTION
Set of three vermeil silver dishes. France, Louis XV style, late nineteenth century. Signature Aucoc (Paris).
Punches on the back
Total weight: 1514 grams
Measurements: 25,6 cm. (diameter)
Set of three gilded silver (vermeil) plates, made in France at the end of the XIX century following Louis XV style models. They have a lobed profile with molded brim and decoration in relief of rocailles and repeated geometric motifs, typical of the eighteenth-century ornamental repertoire reinterpreted in the historicist period.
The wing is enriched with engraved coats of arms, crowned and flanked by heraldic elements (banners, lances and trophies), which point to a possible noble origin or institutional commission. The coats of arms, although stylized and not fully identifiable without a deeper heraldic study, reinforce the representative character of the set and its probable use in high-level table service.
On the reverse side there are punches and the mark of the house of Aucoc, a prestigious Parisian firm active during the 19th century and supplier of luxury objects, linked to productions of high technical quality and refined taste.
