The Pelikan Golden Phoenix is a limited edition fountain pen launched in 1996, with a production limited to 888 units, following the Asian tradition that gives the number 8 a meaning of good luck and prosperity. This piece is part of Pelikan's Asia Edition series, which pays tribute to the continent's rich cultural heritage.
The pen's design is inspired by the Fenghuang, the mythical Chinese phoenix, a symbol of virtue and grace. The body of the pen is crafted in red resin, while the cap features an elegant Toledo mantle in 925 sterling silver, with intricate engravings depicting the phoenix in flight. This craftsmanship, performed by master engravers, gives each pen a unique character.
The nib, crafted in 18-karat gold, guarantees a smooth and precise writing experience. The piston filling system, characteristic of the Souverän M800 series, offers generous ink capacity and exceptional durability.
