The Waterman Man 100 Arlequin pen, introduced in 1990 as part of the "Le Man 100" range launched in 1983 to commemorate Waterman's centenary, is distinguished by its elegant "Arlequin" guilloché decoration (checkerboard or diamonds), inspired by antique hard rubber pens with engraved design. Its cylindrical black resin barrel is engraved using a traditional guilloché technique, with alternating diamond patterns evoking the harlequin costume, highlighting a very refined and tactile visual effect. The pen features a modern "washer" type clip, similar to that of 1950s Waterman fountain pens, with an open V-design that is secured by a screw at the top, rather than the classic riveted clip; this clip is also reminiscent of the style of vintage Parker models.
