Montblanc fountain pen Czar Nikolai I Special Edition, inspired by the Russian imperial aesthetics of the nineteenth century.
Tsar Nicholas I of Russia promoted art and architecture with a style marked by luxury and ornamentation, elements that Montblanc incorporates in this piece. The malachite coating of the cap refers to the columns and ornaments used in imperial palaces, while the silver guilloché barrel evokes the precious metal craftsmanship characteristic of the time.

The cap is crowned by the Montblanc star inlaid in mother-of-pearl, the clip and rings are gold-plated and the 18-karat gold nib is decorated with a special engraving.

Since 1992 Montblanc dedicates part of its production to thematic editions and special pieces that pay tribute to historical figures and artistic styles. The Czar Nikolai I is part of this tradition, combining noble materials with a historically inspired design.

The Montblanc firm was founded in 1906, and in 1913 the star that is its emblem and hallmark of the house was created. It is a round white star that represents the snow that covers the summit of Mont Blanc, the highest mountain in Europe, and symbolizes the commitment of the brand as European manufacturers of objects of the highest quality and distinction.
