DESCRIPTION
Charles X clock. France, ca. 1820.
Gilded bronze.
With pendulum and bell.
Presents faults.
Measurements: 41 x 29 x 12 cm.
Clock of refined workmanship, decorated with the figure of an elegant lady, whose dress with bow on the chest presents undulating folds in its fall and puffed sleeves. The clock case, of architectural design, acts as a support for an ornamental vase arranged at the top. The plinth is richly decorated with bas-reliefs of garlands and festoons, motifs characteristic of the neoclassical taste of the period. The structure rests on ball feet, providing balance and lightness to the whole. The dial has Roman numerals.
