The Rolex "Semi-Ovettone" represent a crucial transitional stage in the evolution of the Oyster case during the 50's. They are technically located between the original "Bubbleback" and modern silhouettes, maintaining the domed back but with a more stylized and elegant profile. Their historical importance lies in housing early automatic calibers under an aesthetic that defines mid-century vintage luxury. They seek the robustness of the 34 mm combined with vintage details, such as the Super Oyster crowns. A fundamental reference to understand how Rolex perfected the tightness and design of its current automatic watches.
In the description of the watches when it is marked "in running condition" it means that the watch is in working order. Since collector's watches often have delicate and complex mechanisms, the buyer is responsible for any general service, overhaul, battery change, adjustment or repair that may be necessary. We do not guarantee the perfect functioning of any watch. All photographs of our watches are original and have been taken by our photographers, that is to say, we do not work with stock photography and that is why the photographs are considered part of the cataloging.
