DESCRIPTION
SWATCH and PHIL COLLINS.
“Suitcase Phil Collins,” 2003.
Ref. GZS08.
Limited edition, No. 4095/9999.
Set consisting of two Swatch watches created in collaboration with Phil Collins: “Phil’s Greatest” (GZ180) and “Drum Phil” (SUDZ100), both with quartz movements.
Includes the “Wake Up Call” CD and photographic material, presented in its original travel-case-style box.
Case measurements: 30 x 30 x 8 cm.
Released in 2003 in a limited edition of 9,999 pieces, this set is the result of a collaboration between Swatch and Phil Collins, who participated in the design of both watches. Phil’s Greatest features the musician’s song titles on its blue strap, while Drum Phil directly references his role as a drummer: the hands represent the arms of a stylized figure holding drumsticks. These features are documented in specialized sources, and Collins’ involvement in the design is confirmed by the Swatch Group’s 2003 annual report itself.
The set also includes a CD of “Wake Up Call,” a track from the album *Testify* (2002) released as a single in 2003, as well as photographic material featuring Phil Collins. The case, designed to resemble a travel suitcase and decorated with the names and labels of various cities, is part of the special presentation for this edition.
A portion of the proceeds from the sale of these watches was donated to the Little Dreams Foundation, founded by Phil Collins and Orianne, which is dedicated to supporting young talent in the arts and sports. This fact is particularly reliable, as it is explicitly mentioned in the Swatch Group’s 2003 Annual Report.
