A pair of walnut armchairs, with the front panels entirely adorned with fine phytomorphic and zoomorphic carvings. They reflect a Renaissance style, which was revived in the nineteenth century. Thus, from the split pediment at the top to the claw-foot front legs, there is no detail of the structure (except for the back) that has not been meticulously carved. Ram’s heads decorate the armrests, protruding like gargoyles. The aprons combine mask-like motifs with filigree of volutes, rosettes, and scrollwork, which continue up the side panels amid leaf-shaped tongues. Lion heads crown the pinnacles of the backrest.
