Sanvisens begins in 1933 his formation in the School of Arts and Trades of the Clot, Barcelona, as a disciple of Domènec Soler. Two years later he entered the School of La Lonja in Barcelona, where he was taught by Luis Muntané. During the Civil War he was mobilized, but at the end of the war he resumed his studies at La Lonja, this time as a follower of Monreal y Tejada, Miquel Farré, Francesc Labarta and Enric Monjo. In 1944 he had his first individual exhibition at the Galerías Españolas in Barcelona. The following year he moved to Paris, where he studied Van Gogh, Cézanne, Gauguin and Bonnard. In 1946 he obtained a scholarship to travel to Holland to study Rembrandt, Vermeer and Hals. After a year he returns to Barcelona and obtains a teaching position at the School of Fine Arts of Sant Jordi, where he will be appointed secretary in 1971. At the same time Sanvisens founded his own art school in 1949. In 1986 the last exhibition of the painter's life was held, organized by the Fundació La Caixa in Barcelona, an exhibition that was later shown in Madrid. After his death, in 1987, a tribute was dedicated to him at the Círculo Artístico de Sant Lluc. His painting, of a post-impressionist character in its beginnings, evolved towards a fauvism with certain expressionist nuances. He is represented in the main museums of Catalonia.
