Gustave Vidal was a landscape and marine painter, successfully trained at the Avignon School of Fine Arts, where he won numerous awards. A member of the Salon des Artistes Français in Paris, he dedicated his work to capturing the essence of Provence, the Camargue and Corsica. He is considered one of the best Provençal landscape painters of the early 20th century, standing out as an excellent colorist. His technique is unique: he masterfully modeled the paste with a palette knife, building his paintings with an almost three-dimensional effect, typical of a "mason" of art, always achieving compositions of admirable balance and precision.
