Échézeaux is an appellation of controlled origin and Grand Cru vineyard located in Côte de Nuits, within the Burgundy wine region, and has Pinot Noir as its main grape variety. It is an area with wineries of different quality, of different reputation, the best known being Domaine de la Romanée-Conti. The appellation's regulations allow up to 15% Chardonnay, Pinot Blanc and Pinot Gris as complementary varieties to Pinot Noir, although they are virtually never used in Burgundy's Grand Cru wines.
