The 2017 La Tâche Grand Cru is a striking wine, relaxing in the glass with detailed aromas of wild berries, plums, exotic spices, orange, rose petals, peony and coniferous forest floor. Full-bodied, satiny and seamless, its beautifully refined tannins and succulent acids are wrapped around a broad core of fruit. Like many of the best 2017s, its charm is deceptive, as there is much in reserve here, and even a few years of patience will pay off.

La Tâche is an appellation controlled origin and Grand Cru vineyard for red wine, within the Côte de Nuits region of Burgundy. The main grape variety of the area is Pinot Noir, cultivated since ancient times. The name Tâche, which means "task", comes from the 17th century, when the vineyards covered a much smaller area than today. It was in the 18th century that La Tâche achieved its fame, since Louis François I de Bourbon, Prince of Conti, managed to make the wines of the area the highest quality in the Vosne area.
