Founded in 1877 and located in the Estación district of Haro, Viña Tondonia is the third oldest winery in La Rioja and undoubtedly the most traditional winery in the appellation today. It was planted between 1913 and 1914 by Don Rafael López de Heredia y Landeta, giving rise to the winery's best-known product. The Viña Tondonia vineyard occupies more than 100 hectares on the right bank of the Ebro River, preserving the winemaking traditions of La Rioja.
